INDUSTRY BASED RESEARCH FOR TAUGHT PROGRAMMES

The Offshore Technology Institute – University of Port Harcourt embarks on research in a broad range of elementary and applied Engineering subjects and uphold close links with the local and international energy companies.

Students’ research projects are developed in collaboration with the participating industrial organizations. Project supervision is by both industry based professional and academic member of staff.

Subject matter of research could be initiated by the participating professionals or by the research requirement of the participating establishment. Such projects should normally fall within the research structure of Offshore Technology Institute of the University of Port Harcourt

A combination of the taught programmes and industry based projects offer an opportunity to build up expertise, update knowledge, and give academic justification to skills to be developed in the workplace.

  • Embark on research in an environment of close association between the multidisciplinary researchers within the University of Port Harcourt, Institute of Petroleum Studies and the Energy industry partners where results of research are applied.
  • Harmonize technological advances that are of significance to various industrial partners who share huge interest in Offshore and Subsea Technology developments.
  • Take full leadership responsibility in providing direction on future   research.
